Around twenty-five thousand households in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, producing powerful gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Broad Destruction
Homeowners observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units deployed to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, around 1,000 households in the southern state also experienced energy failures after the capital city saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred calls for help across the state, primarily for property damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

At one point on the previous day, in excess of 28,000 power users in the state were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both regions.
Safety Concern
Public health experts cautioned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
