David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.
Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the firm commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was made after an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour towards young women.
The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.
Several of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.
From Screen to Page
His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
