Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the league office.
The team did not mention Rice by name in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Claims Shared on Instagram
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, posted a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the second round.

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, Rice concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
