Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
A jet carrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the jet's front window, according to an official statement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The jet touched down in accordance with standard procedures and everyone onboard, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This incident isn't the first time that a United States armed forces jet carrying a senior official has experienced technical problems.
Months ago, a American military jet carrying Marco Rubio to Munich was required to return to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical problem.
