The Opening Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the knell for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Xbox fan sites began covering about PlayStation for the first time. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for the tech giant's gaming arm. However, judging purely by what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that the green gaming company still intends to engage players with quality releases on its flagship service.
The Available Now Titles
The duo of games currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Major Titles on the Horizon
Starting January 13th, the subscription service will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that refreshes the standard Ubisoft formula with a space-faring criminal escapade. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "a superb mixture of horror and action."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, drops on Jan. 7th — and you should try it even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year may draw you in within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Robust Selection of Games
In summary, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that are the sole reason for the service in the first place. However, this batch of games are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of older titles you may have skipped and relatively recent releases that didn't get the attention they warranted upon launch — transforming them into ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
